Greetings all :) Such a joy to have daylight for longer, more time to craft!  Yes!

It's wednesday again, how quickly the week has flown!  Time to share our creative desks for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday, pop over to Julia's blog to find out more

This week I've been playing with my mountain of spectrum pens and i think i have finally cracked it-or thereabouts!

On the right are my previous attempts with the Suzi With Bunny stamp - by Whimsy Stamps.  On the left is my best try so far.  I would add more highlighting to the jeans next time and another tone for the hair I think.  I'm pleased with the bow, shoes and teddy.

As a beginner colouring in with these pens I have learnt some helpful tips! So, firstly, use the right card for stamping your image on to and it needs to be good quality to absorb the pens, test out the colours on a scrap of the card, plan where your high-lighting and shading is going to go before starting colouring in, plan which colours you are going to use for each section, take your time, practise lots and have faith that you will get the hang of it eventually!!

This birthday card I made with the Hot Diggity Dog decoupage and paper.  It is for my 6 year old nephew.  The football embellishments are a pound shop find.

This week I am going to have fun playing with my fairyland stash of goodies and whatever else inspires me along the way :)

Thank you so much for visiting, have a fabulous crafty week :)

  1. Hi Angela, I've just started teaching myself to colour with Copics and I second your top tips! The other thing that's good to keep in mind is that at the end of the day it is only paper and felt pens! I think you've done a fabulous job. Happy WOYWW MM x #99

  8. Oh your doing really fab! Keep practising then when you feel able do the Accreditation test. I did and I'm now an Accredited Colorist. My tip would be use the palest colour to map out where the shadow & highlights are. Leaving the highlight areas white until the last layer. Leaving white works well especially when you want a real contrast but otherwise just one layer of the palest colour at the end works a treat! Sorry going on but I love to colour! I'm just starting my desk visiting as I rested yesterday so I could go to footy last night. We won! So I am a very happy Zoe today. Take care Zo xx 92
