What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday 7

Hello :) here's a picture of my desk on this gorgeous sunny day

I've been experimenting with the IndigoBlu Alice in Wonderland stamps and came up with this creation:

I used walnut stain and aged mahogany distress inks and dabbed some gold pigment ink in places.  In the middle I attached a watch face charm and the playing card (which came out of a Xmas cracker-knew I'd find a use for them!) using a brad.

I made this birthday card for my partner's wonderful aunt Louise who used to read Alice In Wonderland to her when she was a little girl.  I've just heard that she loves it and wants to frame it!  Awww that makes me feel very happy!  :)

Hope you've all had a glorious WOYWW.  Many thanks for popping by :) sending creative vibes, will be back soon! Angela xx

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday 6

Hello :) Happy Workdesk Wednesday to u all!

Thank u heaps for the kind comments for last week's post. My apologies if I haven't replied to you yet-will get there!  I decided to hang onto my step card after all because I loved it so much, not to mention the fiddly work that went into it!

Here's what's on my workdesk today, check out the yummy Alice In Wonderland stamps, can't wait to play with them for my next project.  Here are the cards that I made this week :

I designed the 'Where's my keys?!' card for That Craft Place - my 2nd home!!

And the Hot Diggity Dog card is for my niece's 9th birthday, I'm really enjoying the decoupage and pretty papers :)

Wishing everyone a happy and creative week :) Angela xx

WOYWW 5

Good crafternoon! :)
This week I have been experimenting with my first 'step' card having been taught how to achieve the perfect creases by Lisa at http://www.thatcraftplace.co.uk/.  Aah the wonders of a Hougie Board!  (I don't actually own one yet so you'll have to head to http://hougiecrafts.com/ to see what I'm talking about!)

Here's a snapshot of What's On my Workdesk this Wednesday:

And here's the card- a technical challenge!:

Having cut my card to size and scored my step creases, I stuck torn mulberry papers to the background.

Next, I played with some Copper Knitted Wire and made the leaves, stems, butterflies and roses.  CKW is very versatile, you can bend it, stretch it, twist it, pull out the sides...  The main flower stem is made from placing a lollipop stick inside the CKW, as it comes in the form of a flat tube, then I folded in the sides and twisted the edges.  For the butterflies I folded in the ends and then rotated the edges to create wings.  For the roses I carefully rolled up a length and glued the end under the back to stop it unravelling-fiddly stuff, required patience!  I pulled out the outer layers to create the rose effect.

The pink flowers are made from putting felt through my Grand Calibur die cut machine.  Such joy discovering it cuts through felt!!  Brads form the centres.  The smaller flowers are the same felt with 3 folded Candi discs stuck to the centre using dimensional glue.  The centre-piece flower is achieved from bending and glueing about 100 Candi discs to a circular piece of card creating the petal effect.

Originally, I designed this card to enter That Craft Places recent Challenge: 'Not a square or a rectangle' but missed the deadline due to pesky migraines and naughty aches and pains getting in the way.  But I completed it at last yay! and am very pleased with the results.  Not sure who I'm going to give it to yet :)

Now , what's my next project going to be I wonder...!

Thank u for visiting and for your comments and inspiration, have a Happy What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday crafters, sending out creative vibes :))) Angela aka Angel Greetings! xx

WOYWW 4

Happy WOYWW crafters!  Many thanks for all your comments, so inspiring to share eachothers creations :)  This week I have been working on my first gate-fold card for a special person's birthday...

As you can see, my furry friend Tigger has been joining in and keeping my seat warm!  I'm very lucky to have all this space to craft in.  It's a far cry from where I first started making cards!  Back then we were living in a v small flat and my other half would bring in the tiny fold away wooden slatted garden table and set it up in the lounge temporarily.  It's such a joy to not have to pack everything away now. I never imagined that I would be able to devote a whole room to work in and spread out all my stuff!  My ever-growing collection!!

Here is the outside, I embossed the panels using 'Without a Lock' Couture Creations folder.  I inked over the panels using a walnut stain.  The lock is from Tando Creative locks and latches set.

Inside I glued 2 sections of Kanban Anchor Natural background card to the sides and inked up the inside card using the walnut stain.  I also walnut stained the tag and attached it using a large glitter brad.  I ran over the hemp string with the walnut ink and threaded a key from the Tando Creative range.  As with the lock, I triple heat embossed using clear powder having inked them in walnut and aged mahogany.  The sentiment is from a booklet of travel quotes that I came across in a wool shop in Eastbourne.  I really enjoyed making this card :)
Right, I'm off to have a wonder and see what's on your workdesks this sunny wednesday afternoon.  Thank u for dropping by :) Wishing everyone a great week, see u soon :) Angela xx

Spring challenge

WOYWW-What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? 2

Hello :) hope u all had a lovely easter wknd despite the April showers!
I had fun and made lots of mess (as u can see from my overflowing desk!) with creating my Devillish Donna card -

The style of this card came together as i was making it...I had a good dig around my stuff and found old materials that haven't seen the light of day in a while-exciting! I used a Spellbinder Nestabilities 'postage stamp' die cut for the white card, spectrum noir pens for the image, tore some handmade red/black paper to sit underneath the picture, the Spellbinder Edgeabilities mix and match template for the blue card, an assortment of gems, I rough edged the sides of the stripey paper with a paper distressing tool. With the black and white paper I heat embossed the edges in silver. The blue sequinned trim came from a fab haberdashery stall at London Rd market, Brighton.
Thank you for dropping by, have a great week all, happy crafting Angela xxx

WOYWW-What's on your workdesk wednesday? My first one!

I've been having great fun crafting this week. I bought some wonderful goodies at the grand opening of That Craft Place's http://www.thatcraftplace.co.uk/ new premises on Saturday. Utterly inspiring. I strongly recommend a visit. I have lots to play with. Loving Hot Diggity Dog papers and 3D decoupage.

My Grand Calibur (my bestest birthday present from my amazing partner!) has pride of place on my desk and has transformed my cardmaking! My next project will be the Devilish Donna Whimsy stamp coloured in with my fabulous spectrum noir pens.
So much fun to be had! Happy spring all you creative crafters! Thank you for taking the time to check out what's on my work desk this wednesday! xx
